Zvi Katz’s first step as a primary breeder was to establish his own gene pool by collecting native bird types that existed in the region for hundreds of years. Their existence is well documented in the traditional literature. Through the years Kabir team implemented unique non-conventional breeding system, based on the preservation of natural traits. Kabir also enriched the gene pool of the broiler and layer pure lines, by importing lines from the USA.

Kabir team focused on breeding various lines to meet the unique demands and market niches. Its marketing strategy was to focus on products for the markets largely ignored by the dominant breeding companies.
